Delta Hotels by Marriott™ announced today that the official grand opening of the Delta Hotels by Marriott™ Dallas Southlake is scheduled for mid-November 2020 - just in time to celebrate holiday festivities. Embajadora de EE.UU exhorta a los dominicanos a no votar por corruptos

Santo Domingo.- La embajadora de los Estados Unidos en el país Robin Bernstein, mandó un mensaje a los dominicanos relativo a las próximas elecciones señalando que no deben elegir candidatos en los niveles presidencial, congresual y Municipal ligados a la corrupción administrativa.
La diplomática pidió a la población y a los medios de comunicación que pregunten a los candidatos respecto a qué piensan sobre los temas de interés nacional.
“Creo que los dominicanos saben lo que quieren y creo que saben que quieren sus intereses estratégicos protegidos. Es de los dominicanos tomar sus decisiones. Creemos que es importante que ustedes le pregunten a los candidatos para saber cómo piensan”, dijo.

A partir de mañana maestros podrán ir armados en once condados de Florida

Florida-Miami.- Un polémico programa que permite incluso que maestros vayan armados a las escuelas para responder a posibles tiroteos entrará en vigor este martes 1 de octubre en Florida, donde 11 de los 67 condados han mostrado interés de ponerlo en práctica en su totalidad.
El programa “Guardián” fue creado tras el tiroteo en la secundaria Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, en Parkland, ocurrido en febrero de 2018, en el que murieron 17 personas, entre estudiantes y maestros.
La ley que lo establece permitía en principio armar solo a personal académico especializado o contratar guardias, pero el Legislativo estatal amplió este año esa posibilidad a los profesores, con el respaldo del gobernador de Florida, Ron DeSantis.
Además de los 11 condados que buscan armar maestros bajo el entrenamiento de los alguaciles, otros 25 están interesados en poner en marcha el programa “Guardian” para personal distinto a los maestros.
Estos guardianes deben aprobar pruebas de drogas, exámenes psicológicos y completar 144 horas de entrenamiento.
El programa hace parte de unas recomendaciones de seguridad para las escuelas diseñado a partir de las fallas detectadas en la secundaria de Parkland, al norte de Miami, durante el tiroteo perpetrado el por Nikolas Cruz con un fusil de asalto.
Además de guardianes armados, una ley aprobada en 2018 a raíz del tiroteo de Parkland incrementa la edad mínima para adquirir un arma de los 18 hasta los 21 e impone un período de espera de tres días para la mayoría de las compras de armas de largo alcance.
Florida ha sido en los últimos años escenario de varios tiroteos masivos: en el bar Pulse (Orlando), en el que murieron 49 personas, en el aeropuerto de Fort Lauderdale, en un centro de convenciones en Jacksonville, e incluso en un salón de yoga y un banco. EFE
